What is Sjogren's Disease you ask? Me too! Never heard of it until my dear friend, Linda Korth was diagnosed with it 2018. Besides Linda's multiple medical issues at the end of her life, Sjogren's was a severe irritant for her. Her daughter, Emily now has the disease also.
Sjogren's syndrome is an immune system illness. It occurs when the body's immune system attacks its own healthy cells. Sjogren's often occurs with other immune ailments, such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.
The two most common symptoms are dry eyes and a dry mouth. Eyes might itch or burn. The mouth might feel full of cotton. Treatments include eye drops, medicines and eye surgery to relieve symptoms.
