I’m helping to raise money for a cause that hits close to home. I was diagnosed with Sjogren’s disease over a decade ago, and since then it has affected nearly every aspect of my life. There is no cure for this autoimmune disorder which includes a laundry list of symptoms (severe dry eyes, dry mouth, insomnia, brain fog, chronic fatigue, arthritis, increased risk of lymphoma, etc.) that become progressively worse over time. The mission of the Sjogren’s Foundation is to both educate doctors about the disease and to raise funds for research into new medications to treat the symptoms and hopefully a future cure.
