Step Up for Sjögren’s and Make a Difference Today

“They whispered to her, ‘You can’t stand the storm.’ She whispered back, ‘I AM the storm.’”
Hi friends and family,
It’s time for my 5th Annual Walk for Sjögren’s with Team Purple Storm, and I would love for you to join me.
We’ll meet at Fort Hunt Park at 9:45 AM on Saturday, May 31st. Look for us at the first parking lot once you enter the park. At 10:00 AM, we’ll join the National Zoom Opening Ceremony, then start our walk together—near or far.
This year’s theme is:
Step Up for Sjögren’s and Make a Difference Today.
I started this tradition in 2021 with the word PURPOSE. In 2022, I walked with RESILIENCE. In 2023, I leaned into BALANCE. And in 2024, I chose RENEW: to make like new, restore, and refresh.
This year, my word is ALIGNMENT.
Alignment means being fully present in the moment. It means my mind, body, and spirit are working together; not in opposition. It’s letting go of things that no longer serve me and being open to divine direction, trusting I’m right where I need to be. I’m finding peace in that alignment, despite pain or setbacks. It’s a personal victory to get here, this year:
I walk for myself.
I walk for the warriors who can’t.
I walk for awareness.
I walk for the research, the education, and the healing we all need.
If you can walk with me, I’d be so grateful. If you can give, your donation will go directly to the Sjögren’s Foundation to fund vital research and support for those of us fighting this often invisible disease.
Whether you show up in person, donate, or send love from afar, you’re part of this journey. Thank you for standing beside me and making this walk possible year after year.
With love and alignment,
Sarah
