Hi, Friends:
I am participating in a Walk for Sjogren's on May 31, 2025. There is not an organized walk in Northwest Arkansas, so I am "virtually" joining the
2025 National & Mid-Atlantic Walk for Sjögren'sI will be walking on the same day, at the same time, but will do my walk in NWA.
Some of you may not know that my daughter, Kelly, was diagnosed with Sjogren's in 2021, although she has felt its effects for many years. Sjogren's is a systemic autoimmune disease that affects the entire body. Along with symptoms of extensive dryness, other serious complications include profound fatigue, chronic pain, major organ involvement, neuropathies, and lymphomas. About half of the time Sjogren's occurs alone, and the other half it occurs in the presence of another autoimmune connective tissue disease such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, or Scleroderma. Kelly has both Sjogren's and Lupus.
As a parent, the most heartbreaking part of Kelly's diagnosis is that I am helpless to change things for her. This is my attempt to do SOMETHING.
If you are inclined, I would appreciate your support of Kelly and the approximately four million Americans living with this disease.
