If you are in the Denver, CO area and you want to Meetup in person for an informal walk, join Jessica and her Walkabout Team at 1pm after the Opening Ceremony. Go to Washington Park and meet at the Boat House by Smith Lake (parking is on the streets or inside the park, near Downing/Exposition or S. Franklin/Exposition). This is an opportunity to be with one another in person to celebrate and walk and is basic, no frills walk. We will leave the boat house by 1:15pm and walk around Smith Lake (for a shorter walk). By forming a team and serving as a team captain, your job is:
Recruitment. Recruit individuals to join your team. The more the merrier! Team members can be anyone from family, friends, coworkers, neighbors - anyone you can think of! And there is no limit to how big a team can be.
Fundraising. Encourage your teammates to register on the website and raise funds themselves towards the team goal. Have fun with a little competition to see who can raise the most money or have team focused efforts that has everyone working together.
Inspire. Individuals that join your team and help fundraise are doing it because of you. Share your story with them, why it is so important for everyone to be involved, and how much it means to you to have their support.
The Foundation continues to host virtual Walks to be able to expand our reach and get as many people involved as possible. But a great way to build community is to host a live meetup!
